Baron Munchausen is a character of European myth that might be considered the predecessor of American tales of Pecos Bill or Paul Bunyan. The Baron's stories are taken to be outrageous and fanciful lies. This is the origin of the name of the psychiatric diagnosis of "Munchausen's Syndrome", a particularly bizzare form of hypochondria. |

An amazing film

What an amazing film to look at. It makes you think, consciously or subconsciously, of theatre and film, of fantasy and reality, of stories and lies, of age and death, of memory and imagination.
This great film has a super cast, with fab sets, costumes, visuals and surprises in the director's typical surreal style. Lots of lovely little bits here and there make re-watching a pleasure. And it's a good one for the kids too!
